• Repro-1 is a fierce monosynth: The classic design gives you immediate access to all the raw power: Two oscillators, self-oscillating 4-pole lowpass filter, arpeggiator, step sequencer, the unique modulation section, and five stomp-box effects which can be arranged in any order.
• Repro-1 is available in 32/64-bit VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX for the Mac. For the PC, it is available in 32/64-bit VST2, VST3, and AAX formats. There is also a VST2 version for Linux available. Native Instruments’ NKS is supported as well. For the Mac, you’ll need OS X 10.7 or higher. For the PC, you’ll need Windows 7 or higher.

U-he has released Repro-1, a reverent model of the classic Sequential Circuits Pro-One monophonic analog synthesizer, recreated with all of the personality and quirks of the original, but with a new charm all its own. “Like the original, Repro-1 is a fierce synth: Hard working, raw sounding, and immensely playable. Repro-1 follows in the footsteps of Diva—striving for authentic analogue sound—but attains new levels of accuracy with component-level modelling. U-he Repro-1 is available now for $99. It requires macOS 10.7 or later and an AU, VST, AAX, or NKS plugin host.

Authentic raw analogue sound

Repro dives into the past for analogue inspiration, meticulously modelling two famous synthesizers. Every detail of the original was captured using component-level modelling technology to create the most authentic model possible. Repro contains Repro-1 and Repro-5

Repro-1 is a fierce monosynth: hard working, raw sounding and immediately playable. The classic design is simple and intuitive but belies a deep feature set capable of a wide range of sounds.

Repro-5 is the new polyphonic addition. It has a lot in common with Repro-1, a similar design and feature plus shared sonic DNA. But Repro-5 introduces new flavours, most notably is ability to play lush chords or thick unison leads, while keeping the authentic analogue sound.

Fazit

Wie kaum ein anderer Synthesizer eignet sich Repro-1 als Einstieg in die Weld der subtraktiven Synhthese. Signalweg und Komplexität sind denkbar einfach, erlauben aber dennoch eine große Palette überzeugend klingender, gut spielbarer Sounds. Dank fanatischer Präzision schafft U-HE die ultimative Softwareversion des Pro-One und läutet so die nächste Generation der Emulationen ein.
